just phone him and ask. there's no point in us going through all this and it turns out he is just advertising his sec 5 stuff. if he is willing to disclose stuff then i'm sure he will on a phonecall, if he isn't willing to disclose anything, then anyone who has a more friends relationship with him, aren't exactly going to post up what he has said in private convos.

we can sit here all night and design a new gun for him, but if he isn't planning or intending that, its all a bit pointless.
I know, I just as daft as it sounds. I get nervous, feel like I'm imposing. Which is weird as Scott always takes to me when we meet in person and even answers my more crazy questions like what its like to fire a 5.45x39 and why that russian version of 50 BMG is just as and why you shouldn't expect rifle accuracy with a 50 BMG using ammo meant for machine guns. Like someone said, since the VZ mars has a prohibited section, its likely a sight lock out and I did wonder about him putting off pistol cal versions of the mars (Mike at Westlander told me about a 7.62 Tokarev idea once). So possibly it makes more sense and you're right. I should ask him. Also I keep missing the chance to do an Iron Maiden/Eddie joke with your Avator. Well maybe one day we'll all be Aces high. That was terrible.

I got thinking though about the VZ61 rifle in that pic, how would you hold it? Its gonna hot on the shroud and the only way I can see is by the mag.

How this guy is doing it is the only way I can thinking. You're an even bigger trooper. I wonder what an army of eddies vs ISIS would look like?

Whilst I can't comment on the state of the website I know Scott is working away and out of the country until at least the Phoenix.

He's a good man and without him, we'd not have all the stuff like the MARS action in the country.

To be fair, I'd rather him get stuff sorted first before the website, enough people are spreading the word to make the MARS action known and the rest. I only got curious as a VZ61 rifle seemed the way to go rather than trying to make a pistol cal VZ58. I guess we all get like that, the simplest solution is right at the beginning of the woods rather than deep among the oak.

Uurgh, i REALLY hope the VZ61 isn't the pistol cal MARS gun :bad: I'd prefer him just to make a 9mm/45ACP VZ58 for interchangeability (nice) with my .223 rifle.

If he WAS going to go the other way he should go the whole hog and make it from the Skorpian EVO 3 fingerscrossed

Fix the stock in place and whack a 12" barrel on it, bosh :p

He deals with CSA rather than CZ Blackstuff. Plus you can all see it say VZ61 rifle. I think the clue is in the title. CSA are the ones who will make him the batch numbers he want's (I've had conversations with dealers about this, think Low mills and stockade when they tried to import smith & wesson LBR's and they would... provided they had an order for 1000 that would take a decade to shift, no keeps 10 years of stock). I got that story from the horses mouth (Peter Hathaway-Jones). Compatibility would be nice but you take what you can get sadly and living in the uk, its been good to get the MARS, lever releases (and anything else that might come in future fingerscrossed ).

Its not as ideal as the evo I'll admit (holding it I presume will involve holding it by the mag ala cold war style). 32's cheap enough and some dealers have 380 acp and might be convinced to bring in Makarov as well.

But to cut a long story short, all the evidence points to it being the pistol cal MARS. There is also the possibility that those are the ones CSA will agree to make MARS out of (my conversations with Scott implied the Grendals could be done in house, possibly converted 7.62x39 MARS's, plus he mentioned getting barrels from Peter Sarony of Armalon).

Just ask CCA, no harm in doing so. Could be that, they'll still be in 9mm at least. I remember so adverts in gunmart/shooting sports that mentioned 7.62x39/223/6.5 grendal/9mm so it could be that Scott decided that somebody would want one. Best to give them a call. If anyone will set you straight on something that CCA is doing they will.

I've just been surmising and doing my armchair detective work.

I spoke to Scott about this at the shooting show - the VZ61 is going to be a .22 rifle with a barrel shroud that looks like the original moderator/silencer. I will watch with keen interest :-)
