I use 145gr copper plated 9mm bullets over N340. Not the most accurate round but it's subsonic. 115gr FMJ is the most accurate I've found so far.

As Laurie mentioned, Clive Stevens wrote many reloading articles for Target Gun back in the day. Before I disposed of all my copies when moving to Scotland, I put all the load data from those articles I thought might one day be useful into a spreadsheet -- it has been a helpful reference more than once.

I've prepared an extract from the data, focused on heavy 9mm loads, and I've attached it as a .PDF file.

Do bear in mind that:
a) these loads may have been printed incorrectly in the magazine, or
b) I may have copied them incorrectly, and
c) these are heavy loads, and you MUST work up to them; and finally
d) Cartridge Overall Length (C.O.L.) is critical in 9mm; a very small reduction in COL from that given can yield DRAMATIC increases in presssure, with severe consequences for your firearm, your health, and that of people near you. BE CAREFUL!

David.

I go along with CDM5, my SGC lever release prefers the 115grn bullets, I use FMJ.

well i got some hannams lead 9mm heads from Andy Allwood. he was telling me that n340 wasn't suitiable for it, but didnt have 340 or bluedot anyway.

I made up a few rounds with Unique, as i already had that. and decided not to try bullseye after everyone elses view on it with the SGC

i need more 9mm reloading data i think, and try to understand what is going on with these powders etc.

i will also be looking to get some other heads in the future, may go fmj route as everyone else seems to like them in their guns. but i still need to slug the barrel to see exactly whats what, and whether .355 or .357 is better.

Unfortunately that meaningless (in this context) name "heads" only discomfits things further and potentially dangerously so by the confusion it creates.

Wouldn't worry, it makes sense of the contrary views to the use of the word "heads".
