It would appear so from the Entry Form, in the last match only one P14 was used whilst there were far more Enfields entered where the SMLE, No.4 and No.5 were all in the same class together; incidentally the P14 was also in the same class as the Enfields.

I suppose the rationale this time is to cater for those that actually bothered to show up and shoot and not those that wanted every type of pre-1955 service rifle to be catered but failed to turn up in any significant number.

It's not my comp, its the NRA's.

thank you for that clarification, it seems the NRA has difficulty amending all the documents so that they agree with each other ?

I have a P14 , I do not have any of the other rifles anymore so cannot shoot this competition.

I hope to shoot some sort of CSR in the future but I'm hoping not to have to buy any more rifles or modify those I already have.

no thank you , I have a 303 service rifle that was in service alongside the SMLE and number 4/5 albeit with a reduced mag capacity that may be a disadvantage. I will just get our club to run a CSR style comp as there seems to be a bit of interest now and the secretary shoots CSR at bisley already.

if I get hooked i'll maybe look at getting a 'bisley suitable' rifle.

on another note reference CSR , would I be able to shoot CSR with my 308 with 10rd aics mags or my sako 75 in 223(both scoped) with detachable mags or do I need a straight pull black rifle? I understand that I may be at a disadvantage but it does sound like the sort of comp I want to try?

Both would be suitable.

CSR does not require a 'Black Rifle' you need to have as a minimum a magazine capacity of 10 rounds (you could have less but would not be competitive and cause problems for superviors and ROs as you try to fumble reloads during a CoF if you are even allowed to reload), a working safety catch and a minimum trigger pull of 1500 grams, iron or optic sights. That about all that's required to get you in at least one of the classes. You could shoot a P14 in Historic Class (that is the normal League amd Imperial Class where you are shooting the same matches as SO and PO) but you would be at a significat disadvantage.
