dispatch with crowbar
i can see a situation where that would be required, if the animal was strugling to much to take a safe shot then stun animal first and then dispatch but crowbar only no way

They did drag it into the woods and leave it to suffer for two days before returning to it .
Plenty of time to get a vet to humanely destroy it with an injection or get a stalker who is licensed to do humane dispatch on the road side , no excuses for what they did .

Presuming that the officers in question were equipped with standard issue pistol, how they came to the decision to bludgeon the animal to death is beyond me. Being dispatched on a second occasion to humanely euthanize the animal surely could of been carried out with the use of this pistol, within the woodland and safely.
