The three strapping sons of a Finnish colleague of ours couldn't understand why we smirked when they proudly announced they had all been accepted into the Finnish Border Guard Sissi Troop for their military service.

The Sissi Troop are a 'stay behind' force whose role is to go underground in the advent of a Russian attack, then emerge after the first echelons have passed by and wreak havoc in the rear areas...

I guess the word has it's origins... Makes sense, a bit like the Wolverines, effectively a guerrilla warfare task force.

Oh indeed it does: Sissi derives from a Suomi root, sisu, that can mean 'lionheart' or 'indomitable spirit' dependent upon context
