Hi
I first saw this a couple of years ago and thought it would be a good idea . I think the reason it has never caught on over here is because of range set ups and distance . If you took a look at bianchi or 1500 and mini rifle all very similar in what they are trying to achieve but at short range and in a very stuffy British way , or very PC . We seem to get bogged down here with R & Rs .

Sounds like a drive-by comp around the scheme's of Dundee.

I am sure 25pdr will have some very hairy courses in Greenock to drive through. We could use Cumbernauld or better still East Kilbride (roundabout city) as a tie breaker...if you ever find your way out again you win.

Is there enough ammo in the UK to complete that COF?

No, but feel free to move it to the Buckfast drinking, shell suit wearing, under age mother, soap dodging, job shy, non educated delinquent (NED) and baseball cap at a stupid angle section!

Definitely not enough ammo in .22lr I would suggest some 000 buck and slug... and a section 1 semi auto....just as a back up you understand.

Personaly I think this could be classed as a long range .22 sniper match , shot in prone , kneeling , sitting , standing positions with some range furniture as a guide as to what position is required .

Could have a good Tactical/Fibua match. Also throw in a moving target to for good measure. So much scope of what can be done. Positional shooting, Like Dave mentioned, Furniture for such shoots as Kneeling supported (allways a good one) and mag changes mid shoot :) I could go on all day.
As you can probally guess, Im well up for it!

Thankyou to all that have taken the time to vote and reply,
I will tentatively take this forward, firstly I will contact john at the NSC and find out what can be done, then my own club to see what enthusiasm I can muster up for running the day.
Two ideas that I will be running past them are
The use of the moving target on Butt Zero - it moves from left to right / right to left. I believe we could set it up so both bolt action rifles and semi auto's can have some fun.
Butt Zero is my preferred range at the moment but I am also interested in having a McQueens section at 200 yards to satisfy a "long range" section. Possibly having that as a stage for before or after lunch - depending on numbers or if busy enough on squadding.
These are in addition to the normal turning targets, paper designs and clays.
I am approaching this all very slowly so even if it is possible, we could be looking at the end of the year or next year before range time can be booked and paperwork sent out
A big IF,
DM
