On the other side of our gallery range backstop is a youth club.

If you stand outside the building the only noise you can hear comes from the youth club clapclap

Yep, we used an old table on it's side as a backstop. That will stop anything in the movies so it must be true ;)

Good luck with your range.

I've shot on this indoor FB Range in Scotland, let me tell you six FB Rifle being fired indoors is something to be experienced. :good:

Morton indoor Range..

BTW Would be interested in details of your backstop, I've done my own tests and stopping a 7.62 is quite a challenge. O:-)

Brookers would be the expert as I was but the trigger man. For the tests I used expanding ammunition in 7.62 which were fired at the side of a blue barrel packed with builders sand and numerous layers of conveyer matting.

The final planned backstop is a thing of beauty. I won't spoil Brookers enthusiasm by even hinting.

One of the test I did was collecting these free large Argos Catalogs, a 7.62 penetrated 12 of them but a 5.56 only 6. :o

Not very scientific but convinced me that our forces are under gunned and should go back to 7.62.
