The 1pn34 on the Dragunov weighs 2.2kg, the 1pn58 on the AKM is a bit lighter. Both are fully functioning Soviet night vision scopes and despite being Gen1 they are still very effective (as good if not better than some Gen2 or 3 civilian night vision scopes) and being passive night vision they don't need additional IR illumination, just a moon or starlit night. Both are Soviet Afghanistan era scopes which is why I bought them as I collect Soviet militaria from that period. The 1pn34 is in its original transit case with all the accessories and manuals and the 58 is quite sought after as working ones are scarce, it didn't work when I bought it but I fitted a new image tube and power module and hey presto it powers up and works perfectly.

Cheers Hunter :good:

I know stuff like this isn't everyone cup of tea but if we all liked the same things the world would be a very dull place!.

Cool, whatever floats your boat there mate. A guy I knew at the club down state was a collector of Russian/Soviet firearms. I'm sure his collection would have made you drool, IIRC he had just about every Russian/Soviet made firearms there was. I knew he had three or four pretty expensive Dragunovs that he would bring out and shoot.

Do I really need to explain it to you?

I've never seen anything less like a precision weapon - I know you get excited by Soviet-era kit, each to their own I suppose.

You're welcome.
Seriously. I think it's tiring, distracting and a liability...
