Fair enough. I'm currently getting a stuck case in every 10. If I could get that down to 1 in 100 (or better) I'd be happy. I have the feeling it's just a question of a 'quick buzz' and done - not something I'd want to spend £100's on. If I ferk up the chamber I'll just get it re-done. Gotta be worth a shot, given so many do it successfully themselves?

Has anyone here used the Flex-Hone tools?

Stuck cases - are they Milsurp, handloads or what? Could be various reasons for the cases getting stuck.

Also, getting the chamber redone on an AK could be problematic as I don't believe the barrels are screwed on and removing them is a real PITA. So if you really mess it up, you might need a new rifle...

Got to be careful polishing a chamber, you can make it too slick giving poor obturation and rear ward movement of the case, forcing the action to open when the pressure levels are not safe...

It's a ba$tardised AK, a even nasty made weapon in its original form, I'd say get rid, it's bringing you no joy given your posts....

I would be surprised if the action opened, due to the substantial locking lugs, the same locking lug setup handles 54r loads when used in the Romanian PSL.
The only differences between this and a milspec AK is the lack of an operating gas system, a slightly different fgc and a smidge of machining on the bolt carrier. They are factory built and hardly what I would call "ba$tardized", unlike some of the Bubba'd abominations they knock up in the States..My own AKM (same manufacturer, RomArm in Romania) has had 1000's of rounds through it, all milsurp, with very infrequent extraction problems.

Before attacking the chamber (you don't want to mess up the chrome plated chamber!) I would see what the dealer says about it as I have suggested, alternatively send it to me and I will gladly dispose of it for you :p

I'd be thinking about a lapping compound, but you need something that is precisely the shape of the cartridge/chamber that will turn inside the chamber to polish the high points, and therein lies the problem methinks.

Lapping compound and a correct sized "die" would be the way I'd go, wire wool seems a bit coarse and may cause more harm than good, especially if any bits of swarf get left behind.. :/

Get some one to run a finishing reamer through it some one like ovenpaa might have one or be able to borrow one. I'd be wary of messing about with the chamber. Do you reload for it what distance do you shoot it over. Maybe a cast load might help.

I'm not sure you can do that with a chrome lined barrel?

If the chamber is chromed there is no way of running a reamer through it again, I would also be very wary of trying to remove chatter marks by honing or stuffing something into the chamber. First step for me would be to take a close look at the chamber and determine just how bad it is, if it is a new rifle take it back to the suppliers and ask them to check it over.
