Have you ever considered, you know, asking the company/person if there's any chance of a cheaper option if it's (say) listed at £10 fixed postage for a few springs? I have, and succeeded before.

And I quite like fixed postage after Kranks charged me £4 to deliver a thousand 240gr bullets + other stuff. Again, it comes down to "win on some, lose on others".

As has been said above, anyone who thinks cost of P+P = cost of a stamp and envelope is either deluded, being deliberately obtuse or hasn't sold anything via post recently.

For instance, I've got exactly the "stick it in a jiffy bag and in a postbox when you're passing" situation with something I'm selling at the moment- a scope rail for an Umarex pistol. Unfortunately it rather breaks down when you consider that a jiffy bag with anything remotely bulky (ie. not a letter or sheet) doesn't come under the "62p for a stamp" argument anymore and, with the number of scammers about, realistically has to go at least signed for.

These days I just list everything as "£x posted" to avoid the types who point out you can post it for £0.02 cheaper, or the "post it not signed for, bruv" types.

Same reason most of our grocery shopping is done at Asda instead of Tesco, Sainsburys or Waitrose, same reason as people look for the cheapest petrol or diesel prices, buying shooting related stuff is no different.

Did I complain about your shipping charges for the Starline cases I bought from you?, no I didn't because unlike some you don't overcharge. £4 to £8 to post about 25g of de-capping pins is a rip off, I bet you wouldn't charge that much would you?.

I sell and post things quite often and strangely I'm neither deluded or obtuse. I charge exactly what Royal Mail or whichever carrier service I use charge me, I give the buyer the choice of having it shipped with or without tracking at their own risk, again charged at actual cost.

Just email rcbs and they'll ship you new ones out foc. Might take a few weeks, but you won't have to pay postage.

How on earth can people justify that for a small envelope or jiffy bag and a large letter stamp? They would actually go in a normal envelope and 1st class stamp would cover it.

Time to ring around and see who has them locally.

i know, i run a wholesale company and my customers expect a Rolls Royce service but Skoda prices.
AND,,,,,,,,,they also have to pay somebody to pack it and take it to the PO.

As has ALREADY been posted, RCBS - in AMERICA (big place, turn hard left off the M6 northbound & start swimming) - WILL send the parts FROM AMERICA - for ZERO TOTAL COST to the customer.

I'm also running a business.
IF someone needs an item quickly I tend to still use Royal Mail...if there's no rush & the customer is in the UK I use MyHerms.
The latter (for the same weight size package) is cheaper than Royal Snail PLC, is tracked for free and for an extra 20p is COLLECTED FROM MY DOOR

I can tell you don't run MidwahayUK though - they're Rolls Royce prices & LADA service

Even fellow shooters take the proverbial, I agreed to buy a couple of items off this forum, the add said postage at cost, I naively thought the seller would do their best to keep costs low. So imagine my dismay at getting a £17 bill to receive £55 worth of goods. By comparison Hermes would have cost under £7 tracked,signed and insured. Gives a rather jaded opinion of some. But you live and learn.

Is it not cheaper to use a company like Hermes. I normally use them for shipping stuff but then I am not a dealer. Or is there a problem with using that type of company..

Only problem is olde-worlde attitudes & fear of the unknown

A BIG firm I get leather from are about to switch exclusively to Hermes as they've noticed a HUGE drop in Royal Mail PLC standards and a polar opposite change in PLC prices...
