That has to be the cleanest Martini-Henry that i have ever seen. I used to shoot both Martini-Henry and Snider, until, one day, I realised that, if we had been involved in a European war in the last quarter of the 19th century, the Martini would have come up against this (and its single-shot immediate ancestor).

Eight in the tubular magazine, one on the lifter and one up the spout---we would have been in a bad way.
Unlike both the Martini and Snider, it is easy to reload for---almost any load is accurate, dies and moulds are readily available---and it most be the best made and finished military rifle of all time.

Army and Navy .380 rook rifle, belonged to a great uncle. Apparently killed a few deer one night raiding his barely many, many years ago, he was using a lamp (old car headlight attached to a battery) , was just shooting at the eyes. Turned out to be his own sheep!
