Tell you what I'd happily fly around in a pink spitfire, even if the stick was a certain battery powered appendage shape......it's still a Spitfire!

In the USA, guns which have been ruined by butchery or the addition of out of period additions---a scope on an original flintlock etc---are attributed to the famous gunsmith, Harlow Parkenfarker. Welcome to the UK, Harlow.

Sorry Ken, forgot desert pink, my bad.

Try a red one (like those ingrates did in Reno, the furies aint much better) ****

And no, it is not still a Spitfire, it is a warbird. It was built as a war bird, not a silly status symbol. If you want to do that to an aeroplane than buy a bloody Pitts special or en extra.

Its almost and insult IMHO to "Civilianise" or "camp up" a war machine for whatever reason. The only exceptions are some of the artwork done for meets (tiger meets etc) various mile stones or the odd charity job but by and large these are temporary and for a good cause.

Whatever next....tcho....mutter.....pooftahs......gay bar loitering..... tesnews tesnews tesnews

weirdly it was not for desert use! I learnt something today, as I wasn't aware of the use of pink camo paint during WW2

Makes sense, but our cabs were painted pink mate on Granby for the obvious.

Oddly you will notice that for opposite reasons training cabs (Crabfat Hawks and no-can-dos and the Squirrels/Bells) are all black with yellow bits.

Something I learned as a glider bod was that you were often invisible until you turned and the wings flashed or you were a silhouette.

They plumped for black as its always a silhouette in the air and the yellow gives you vis from above.

Good stuff.....where its PC ;)

I did have an Eotech 512 on my Marlin but got very funny looks, so now I've put a Jpoint mini dot on there.

I still get funny looks! No pleasing some people......
