I did eat Horse steak in France many years ago, it was OK but then again everything fried tastes OK..

I used to spend my working day shoveling food into the front end of horses, shovelling what came out the other end, and getting kicked and bitten by the parts in the middle. I would quite happily eat cheval and might even be able recommend some individuals who would be excellent candidates.

I tried it in France many years ago however I was not impressed and would not go out of my way to eat it again.

A couple of years ago I was on a mission to find a butcher locally (just before the iceland scandal) who could get hold of a nice horse steak for me. none could oblige unfortunately and I went without my horse. Apparently it can be very well marbled.... Anyone got any leads? :p

Luxembourg, Belgium, Northern France.

You may just find it in a specialist butcher here in the UK, but not many.

There's a well known horse restaurant on my street in Belgium. I've only had shellfish and beef there, and the beef made my wife and I both very ill indeed. We definitely won't be going back.

Had horse steak in Switzerland a couple of years back , too much garlic in the sauce but it was tasty. Why not, unless the Bambi syndrome kicks in.
