Same here Mezzer, but, the good old British legal system means that yours and my thoughts on what we would use to defend our loved ones an offence. Technically, even thinking that you would use a firearm means that you could be charged for 'Possession of a firearm or imitation firearm, with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence'.Mezzer wrote:
I don't believe for one moment that the vast majority of people in this country would rather sit back and watch their wives and children raped in front of them. I for one (and I'll bet that there are plenty of others) will defend my family in that situation to my last breath using every piece of weaponry at my disposal. I'll worry (not) about the legal aspects after the threat has been eradicated and my family are safe.

Actually they don't, it's more a sense of disbelief. Saying that though even over here we have more than our fair share of hand wringing panty soiling numpties who would rather let themselves and their families come to harm than pick up a gun to defend themselves and their families. The seem to share a common thought that the Police will be there to protect them from the nasties of life.SevenSixTwo wrote:Americans (still) laugh at us.
I had a "teacher" like that at school. My reply involving the phrase "evolution in action" caused a bit of a stir.SevenSixTwo wrote:I 'overheard' a convo on twitter recently:

I dunno mate, I reckon the majority of women given the choice wouldn't have a problem shooting someone who's intention was to rape and possibly kill them. My wife has a CPL and I know for a fact that she does not share that sentiment, that woman has ice coursing through her veins when it comes to self defence.SevenSixTwo wrote:I 'overheard' a convo on twitter recently:

This, folks, is the problem with society now.
