There was plenty of opportunity for that if you ticked the "other" box and filled it in.

Done. I'd really love to see our sport become more mainstream and this sort of initiative is exactly the sort of thing that should be going on to broaden the (acceptable) public image of shooting. Quodos to the Clay smashers, they've done a lot to raise the profile of shooting but I'd like to see some full bore shooters given the same opportunities in the future and with the support of Sport England I'd like to think this could happen?
An end to 'open days' and a simple turn up and shoot should be something our national bodies and BSSC should be pushing for if we are to flourish.

That's what I thought, surely the aim must be getting more PEOPLE shooting, regardless what bodily bits and bobs they may or may not have! I also agree strongly that prospective shooters should be able to just show up and have a go under close supervision, an end to closed shops I say!
As for the the clay shooters, good on them, but at the end of the day it's a sport spectators can enjoy and I would love to see it televised. With the best will in the world most rifle shooting is deadly dull to watch. The clay shooters also have amber hill as their poster girl who got shooting it's only positive exposure when she won bbc young sports personality last year! :goodjob:

done it,
As for the disabled angle there was a lot of work being put in by a cross bodies group a couple of years ago with a goal of promoting and bringing in shooters with disabilities.
