Bet it is a nice shooter! The Belgian M1950 mausers in .30 were pretty common at one time in the U.S. during the big import wave pre 68. They were always in very nice shape and a lot ended up turned into sporters. My buddy had one when I was in high school. Later on I bought a like new Israeli 98k in 7.62mm post 1986. I traded it off like an idiot. Wish I still had it!
Here's my 7.62mm mauser: Yugo M48 export model (no crest) fitted with an FN 7.62mm 98k barrel made for Israel (the barrel, not the rifle). It is a good shooter, shoots a bit high due to the sights being set for Yugo 8mm heavy ball instead of 7.62mm NATO.
Hi,yes it shoots great about 6.ins high at 100m,only had it about a month, problem lies not with the rifle but with tired old eyes , still trying to get some pics up no success at the mo, have to say yours is a seriously nice looking rifle hope you don't turn it into a sporter, mine does differ slightly to yours my top woodwork only comes back as far as the rear sight
It also has the wood ressesed for the bolt to sit in,,when I sort out this pixel thing will put some pics up.
Cheers Gary
OK,,,,,I give up, how the heck do I get round this pixel thing so i can post some pics before the laptop
Exits via the window at 1750fps, thanks in anticipation.
