I tried to follow this thread because I am interested to know why you guys can use this target system and we can not.
I know what MOD stands for.
I know what ETR stands for.
SARTS ?
KEMBLE ?
COF,s ?
XML control files for target. ?
It just ended a load of gob idly gook again. I give up.

SARTS is the new electronic target system that is your ETR.

SARTS = Small Arms Range Targetry System.
XML is a computer programming language. XML stands for EXtensible Markup Language.
It is a markup language similar to HTML.

Sorry about that.
I don't know why you can't use ETR/SARTS. We just book the ranges through Landmarc and shoot.
Maybe it depends where you live. I'm under an hour's drive from Otmoor, Longmoor, Ash, Stoney Castle and Henley Park and we can use all of them.

I must admit this has got me baffled it obviously has to be a local issue. I guess we will just have to live with it. My Club is all ready making alternative arrangements to use other ranges we will just go elsewhere. They can stick there ETR targets were the Sun does not shine.

The 'greens' in charge on Salisbury Plain have said no to civvies using sarts ranges until
The NRA runs a 'familiarisation day' for RCO's.
Sarts can be programmed via flash drive, but, as it's a 'secure' system, you'd also need the same encryption system to load up anything. And clearly, that won't happen.
The MOD might get round to programming other shoots eventually, but as the carbine acmt is already out of date for the new aosp, keep hoping.

We were booked on a gallery range today but it was cancelled due to storm damage to the butts.
So we had to move to ETR instead

.
Here's another SARTS "feature". Because the 100/200/300 targets for each lane are staggered only slightly, hits on the 300m target also show up as misses on the 200m target sign01 .

That's been set up wrong then.
It should only record shots, hits or misses, if the target was up at the time, unless the 200 target was up while you were shooting the 300 ?
