We're thinking of .308 to begin with. Part of the design spec is to be capable of handling a full 30 round magazine on auto...

I remember corresponding with a guy in London who was the UK distributer for a US maker of titanium moderators. That company made some pritty big claims and had an equally high price tag, I think around £700 each from memory.

Our prototype was stainless steel: if we commit to produce more we'll be looking at titanium...

Presumably that makes it lighter and longer lasting?

Oh indeedy: 42% lighter and more capable of sustained high temperature use. Things like this use titanium for that very reason...

I'd give Red Jacket a call they should be able to knock you up something from a few tin cans, gaffa tape and some hi tech, precision cable ties that would be well within your budget range.

not a lot of demand for that in the UK target and stalking community, you also need to identify your target audience (sic) why would a target shooter be worried about having a light weight mod? and why would a stalker be interested in a mod capable of sustained fire? now if you can come up with a lightweight mod at a competitive price and come up with a suitably sexy name (Badgers SBD?) then you may have a saleable product, but bear in mind there are a few people ahead of you in the market. If you are just looking to offset the manucturing costs of a low volume run for your own use then perhaps look at either target use or stalking/foxing and treat them as separate markets. good luck clapclap

I have to agree with this, I don't think the rapid-fire capability really ties in with a high-quality/lightweight Mod.

The point is, my dear large brained creatures, if it can pawdle a 30 round blast on auto you aren't going to wear it out with your slow, methodical, breech open and cooling draught through the barrel, target shots...
