This idea has been totally dropped - boresighting has served me well in the past, and Im sure wil do so again.

Plus 1 for the Mk1 eyeball, I have tried the "chambering" variety in .308 and .303 and the stuff it in the spout type....Not a patch on good old fashioned peering down the bore, yes I agree perhaps at air rifle ranges it might be more successful.

One thing I tried that did seem to work well with these though, in order to see the laser at 100 yds I sighted up on my car numberplate, it seems to reflect the laser at greater distance than anything else.

Save your money most of them are no more than gimmicks. As others have said the bore sighting method takes some beating and with practise you can get quite good at it.

I had one many years ago, it was hopeless and the red laser dot could not be seen at 50m however I read an article that said if you used the white reflective bands of traffic cones you would be able to use them out to 200m so I 'found' some of the reflective stuff and stuck it on the target and promptly had a huge red blob that served no practical use.

Interestingly it sold really quickly on a well known auction site...
