Yes, NZ is a small market (relative to almost every other country) and far away from pretty much every supplier, and the prices unfortunately reflect that reality.
That said, at least we have better (not only less restrictive but dare I say it - more common-sense) gun laws than some, and we can shoot most disciplines we want (provided of course you are a 'fit and proper' person and can pass the vetting process).

Yeah I never quite figured how my mate got around that one :lol: :lol: :lol: Have to agree with you on NZ gun laws as well, last time I visited NZ I found them fairly relaxed as compared to most of Europe.

Police/emergency help can be a LOT further away if you're in trouble in Australia and there are a lot of things (other than humans) that can kill you. If you live in the outback i think you'd be a nutcase NOT to be armed to the teeth!

Les Hiddins (the Bushtucker Man) used to carry a S&W model 29 on his hip against crocs. Not bad for their equivalent of Ray Mears, on prime time tv.
