Err...

HPS ammo is "factory" ammo, in the sense that the operation is fully commercial and adheres to the resulting CIP standards. While it would be more accurate to describe HPS as an ammunition assembler rather than manufacturer - they buy in commercially-sourced primers, powder, cases and bullets, put them together, package them and get the result CIP certified, they build substantial quantities and should definitely be considered a small "factory" operation.

Their pricing is reasonable at least partly because you are buying direct ex-works; there is no intermediary with stock holdings and overheads to cover.

Ian WR, I am aware of this, however by factory ammunition I was referring to large commercial companies who sell on through several intermediaries and aim to make a substantial profit and who also tend to manufacture in other countries, thus forcing the cost up by way of import taxes and the like. Therefor I think it is fair to say that they are cheaper than alternative products of a similar quality and type.
