+1 on both the 10x leupold and optimate I have had both, just depends on how much money you want to spend

That's encouraging, Big Chicken. We have a 6x42 Pecar on our K31, used mainly at 300 mards but, once in a blue moon, at 600.

Hi Badger, I use a 10X42 old S&B PM fixed power on my L42 when I get fed up with the 3 power L1A1 telescope - they can be found on occasion on eBay and tend not to be too expensive (as long as they are not the green painted L96 affairs...)

What is your budget? There are plenty on various other forums (not sure what the rules are regarding linking to other forums).

Following two aren't mine (and I have no connection) but show what is available.

£550 for a Schmidt & Bender 12x42 PM
£200 for a Leupold 12x40 M8 (although finished in realtree so less desirable)

However you could have a Sightron 8-32x56 which plenty of F Class shooters rely on (so fairly reliable) for 650-700 and there are always ones for sale on some forum or another and offer a lot more flexibility than a fixed 12x power scope.

We'd prefer a fixed power scope, and x10, x12 or x16 seems to be about the right magnification. Budget would be up to £400 but less is good.

It's missing its cross-hairs but on these scopes it's pretty easy to get them fixed and you would have a great scope for @ £350

I too have a soft spot for fixed power scopes. One of my best buys ever was a slightly battered Kahles ZF69 scope I bought surplus from the NZ Army for NZ$75 when they got rid of the old C3A1 sniper rifles.
