Thanks for all the ideas.
I'm hoping to pickup a cabinet on Saturday.
I'll be taking a friend as it weighs in at around 50kg. He also has a SDS Drill which will come in handy and he installs control panel cabinets for a living.
fenceposterror: I see... I think I remember years ago making one such error.. :)
Control panel cabinets are normally free standing. The ones in our place are very tall and wide they just stand side by side by the time you have installed all the gubings in them they are not going to go any were. Not the same really.

Arh! The panels and cabinets my friend installs hang from walls and ceilings. The panels weigh anything from 50 to 1000kg as they contain very large motors.

I've installed the cabinet... and bloody hell it was a pain in the rear.
Anyway, I now know that the "party" wall between mine and next doors is just plasterboard and a 255mm gap filled with fibre insulation! wtfwtf I makes my external security a bit useless if next doors is.
Cabinet is now recessed on the outside wall, attached with bolts to brick and to the wood frame.
Thanks for the ideas they did come in useful.
