My eldest daughter is in her first year of comprehensive school....her form year have been tasked with bringing in something related to the winter Olympics.
Her answer?
She's sellotaped an empty .22LR case to a bit of paper labelled 'Just like they use in the Biathlon'.
Got to love her :-)

The girlfriend wants to try cross country skiing next week.
Will get a chance to see what part of the sport involves; wonder if they hire out the rifles too?

A somewhat synthetic blonde with too many straight lines for my taste. I find curvier versions much more comfortable but I wouldn't say no if offered I suppose.

Rifle, ditto.

O:-)

Being the best shot in my cadet team I was forced to do a march and shoot competition once...but also being the fattest kid in the cadet team meant I really didn't enjoy it at all...

...got a lot of respect for these athletes.

Gabriela Soukalova finished 4th today in the 10 km pursuit with 1 missed shot and less than 6 seconds short of the podium....
Team GB Amanda Lightfoot and Lee Jackson have unfortunatly not done terribly well so far, bellow the 60th place qualification mark and therefore did not get to compete in the pursuit.

Biathlon was shot full-bore until the late 70's .
1962 Norwegian Biathlon championships ... I guess those were the days ...
