I reset the password and got in thanks.
Would you recommend the gas check version over the plain one? I will mainly be using it @ 100 yards but it would be nice to stretch its legs once I get used to reloading for it.

If you want to try the Lee bullets while awaiting the GB pm me your address and I'll put some samples of both in the post for you.

A heavier bullet is this GB...

.... if it ever gets off the ground. I gave up on it a while ago. I would definitely recommend the NOE moulds though, I have a few in my collection. Quality!

You need to be careful with that Oldfeller design as it was designed to fit the generous throats of the M96.
It is designed to drop at a whacking .340", so you will need to check from you chamber slug that your rifles throat will accommodate this. If it cannot then the boolit will be seated far to deeply into the case for the round to chamber.
Mihec cuts very fine moulds but his delivery is erratic at best and communication of his intentions to customers is non existent.
This design is now on the NOE list and I would be expecting a run sometime next year.

I have the short rifle which is 8x60R & found case neck wall thickness to be an issue.
As the chamber is tapered at the neck to use the Lee .329" Mannlicher cast bullet I reformed .348 win cases which are slightly shorter than 8x60R & taper reamed the inside of the neck for clearance.
The groove diameter is .329
Can’t say if it is accurate as I only tried a few cases a few years ago.

Thanks David,
I had read a similar thing on a couple of other forums and I seem to remember that the remedy was to cut the case back to 57 or 56mm (which I think was the standard length of the slightly later case used for non black powder loads?)- I will have to go back and have another look and make lots of notes. This is certainly going to be an interesting rifle to load some decent ammo for.
