Just moved house, no visit at all. Admittedly it was within the same force area. Rang the FLD, they said post your ticket in and we'll send you a fresh one. Turned around in just over a week.

That's most odd, I'm with the same force and that's never happened to me. Having said that it's usually a FAC that gets sent through in a custom size envelope with an address window. TBH you could probably work out that it's a FAC if you've seen one in full. emrolleyes

No the police are certainly not exempt under the data protection act and in fact go to great lengths normally to comply with all the requirements. I'm just wondering why the club member should think that a franked envelope should come under the data protection act.
There are some let outs for small organisations and clubs under the act but generally they have to comply or face the consequences. One area that I fell foul of the act was when sending email circulars to all rifle club members. I didn't know that what I should have done was to send them as blind copies rather as an email listing the email addresses of all the club members.

A few years ago there was a stamped used envelope for sale on eBay, addressed to a Police Firearms department in Birmingham with the senders address on, be intresting to know how that came about.
Saw it listed twice didn't look any more but reported it to the Birmingham plod.

Moved house a couple of months ago and got a PSCO in normal clothes (apart from the PSCO epaulets) in an unmarked car for the visit
