Maybe try a boat builder who needs to bore straight holes for prop shafts

After much research have discovered there is too much flex in normal drills, especially on a wood lathe.

You need to use a gun drill with compressed air rather than fluid.

This is the only way to get a long hole anywhere near straight and true through wood
