Have any of you oomans ever looked at what different grades of brass are used by different manufacturers ? Catalogued what different geometries and wall thicknesses they use for the same nominal round ? Made a study of how the brass changes over time as it is fired and re-used ?

Trouble is it would only be snap shot as manufacturers brass changes over the years. Be interesting over time to see how the brass changes though
I used to be a big fan of Norma brass but after the last few batches I have had it seems to have gone off, batches from 20 years ago fired multiple times are still better than the current stuff I've been getting. The last batch of 7x57 could have been Winchester with Norma headstamp on it it was so thin. Also Norma's product line is not as extensive as it used to be, some of my best .303" British is Norma from the 70's but they don't do 303 now.
Lapua is undoubtedly the best around these days but they have so few decent cartridges in their product line that using the stuff is limiting. over the years I have been impressed by Starline brass and get that as a second choice after Lapua, not in the same league but the best of the rest in my opinion.
Jamison has got to be the worst.
It also needs to be remembered that brass case manufacturers will supply more that one company just changing the head stamp so do you really know what you are getting by a headstamp?
