Depends how you measure it, ooman: across the grooves, across the lands or from groove to land. The RN rifles fired a bigger, heavier shell further but the calibre was measured across the lands and so appears smaller...

Depends how you measure it, ooman: across the grooves, across the lands or from groove to land. The RN rifles fired a bigger, heavier shell further but the calibre was measured across the lands and so appears smaller...
