I wouldn't be too sure about that. I don't know if it has changed but any temporary type building or storage unit that was going to be on ground for over 6 months required planning consent (some exceptions).

Call me stupid but, firing a firearm inside a shipping container??!!??!!?
The words deafening, ricoshay ( sorry cant spell ) and fumes come to mind... Let alone firing BP!!

Or have I got hold of the pointy end?

The shipping container would be the basis of a range - you wouldn't fire into it, as is.
