What is the serial number on it?

S.N. is 9001 which appears to make it a non U.K. produced arm. I didn't realize until after I bought it that Navy Arms is marketing one marked with Parker Hale. What is the scoop on them?

I think it is British made based on that serial number, and from the early 1980s.

If you remove barrel from stock any time, you should see stamped after the proof load information a tiny code; two letters and a number between crossed swords or in a circle. If you let me know this I can tell you what year the barrel was proofed.

I took it to the range today and put about 15 rounds through it. I used RWS caps, Pyrdodex RS powder and mystery minie balls that came with the musketoon. It is dead nuts on at 100 yds when I used a bit over 50gr of powder but shot a bit to the left. I found that with the sight set at 100 yds I had a hard time getting my cheek low enough on the stock to use the sights. I tried the sights at 400 yds on the 400 yd steel plate and shot a couple feet low. I noticed that the muzzle is very tight and I had to tap the minie ball in with a mallet to get it past the muzzle, then it would to down the tube with the ram rod.

Now to clean it!
