Thanks for the kind words guys.
I,m probarbly the most expensive duracoater in the country, for several reasons.
If you have a gun done by me, this is what happens to it.
1. Its completely stripped, barrel off, absolutely everything.
2. Its completely degreased.
3. Its shot blasted with aluminium oxide.
4. Its degreased again.
5.The breech and muzzle are masked off, and the barrel refitted.
6. The whole gun is then painted, bolt heads masked off etc.
7. The parts are baked in a very large oven for a few hours, and left to cool.
8. The whole gun is then reassembled, correctly lubricated, and set back up as it should be, by a professional gunsmith.
If your duracoat job is wearing rapidly, coming off in flakes etc, then it hasn,t been done properly, and its what you get when you have a "cheap" job.
Correctly done, quality work, is never cheap.
I,m always busy with various jobs, but no one has ever waited 4 months from me. Barrelled actions are usually turned around inside a week, full custom cammo jobs, the same, sometimes two weeks. Paintwork can be done whilst other work is going on. Its handy to be able to go and put a coat on, then nip next door and do a threading job whilst its drying.

We ran an article on Baldie and his DuraCoat work in November 2010 Target Shooter - available on the website at www.targetshooter.co.uk
I took a rifle for proof that Baldie had painted (for free for a 'Help for Heros' rifle) and was worried that the coating might flake when it was engraved - not a chance, it engraved perfectly.
No one does it better.
