Don't worry, it's not only your club who are stuck in the dark ages.mag41uk wrote:Reading this getting angrier and angrier!
I have tried to convince members of our committee that we could be doing this.
When I say we I probably mean me and a couple of others.
I bang my head against a brick wall each time I bring this up.
Usually just a straight forward NO along with range not certified for full bore rifle and/or someone will fire a factory round blah blah.
Give me some facts please guys on how to do this at my club!
Sorry for hijack but others may be in the same boat!
Tony
As for mentioning slug shooting..................

Re: Cast bullet shoot
Thanks for replies, not just me then!
I will contact you in due course Adam.
I suspect the range cert, which we have just renewed, would specifically have full bore rifle with some condition attached.
I will see if I can get a look at it.
I do have a feeling that sometimes we are fobbed off as what we want to do isnt the norm or cant be bothered to be understood.

The Range Orders MUST be on display in the range.mag41uk wrote:Thanks for replies, not just me then!

Study them and you should have a good argument for shooting lead.
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.
All round good guy and VERY grumpy old man.

Re: Cast bullet shoot
I must admit I had never given a thought to shooting full bore rifles indoors until I visited the Yarners Gun club.
I have been going there a couple of weeks and up to now I have had my Winchester underlever and my Australian Arms 7.62x39 across the chrono with Adams Supervision with cast boolit loads.
Its opened up a whole new shooting experience for me.
I am tempted to have a go with my MAS 36 and my Nagant and may be some of my other toys. But the bottom line is its a opportunity to get to shoot my full bore rifles on a regular basis with out having to wait for access to a MOD range.
At the Yarners I can shoot them every night if I want to. Its good fun and it keeps the old girls shooting what is there not to like.
