Just put my FAC back into Durham (again) as they wouldn't let me have "300 rifle" so I had to specify an action, I opted for straight pull which they changed to bolt. Now it appears there's a fairly long wait for 300 Blackout straight pulls so I've bought a Handi Rifle instead.

Asked Durham how long for a 1 for 1 change of action only - 10 to 14 days! as they have to do background checks on all variations now!. Emailed the request then dropped it off this afternoon with a note explaining it, also asked if they could do it any faster as it's only a change of action from bolt to break and no change in calibre or usage. Got home to find an email asking me to specify the usage and which clubs it will be used at etc. in writing (email will do).

I put in for a variation to Strathclyde just before the change got it back in 8 days I hope they keep the same staff in Glasgow.

That's interesting because according to the Police Scotland website all the old Licensing teams are still in place - a friend has a variation (141) in with Grampian as of Monday - still not going to hold my breath!

Grant, that info was from my FEO so maybe the web sites haven't been updated.

The condition attached to my FAC for the Sect 1 Shotgun

The Firearm shall be used for vermin control on any land over which the certificate holder has permission to shoot for this purpose with this class of firearm. The Firearm may also be used for clay target shooting or practical target shooting either on ranges suitable for the safe use of that class of firearm and with adequate financial arrangements to meet any injury or damage claim or over a course of fire approved by a qualified member of UKPSA on land over which the holder has lawful permission to shoot.

I didn't ask for vermin control, is that strange? Although not forcing me to do a UKPSA safety course, the reference to a qualified member is somewhat odd.

Does the condition allow me to shoot Target Shotgun and Practical Shotgun at Bisley?

Also got 100/150 slug straight away.

This was also mentioned at the NESSCC on sunday,i'm assuming that the current teams will stay in place(for the time being at least)but they come under the boss in Dundee.

Mike, the slug condition is the same as mine (Durham) basically as long as a course of fire has been approved by a member of the UKPSA you're good to shoot.

Our PSG range is a piece of privately owned land and almost all the members of the clubs PSG section are UKPSA members so setting an "approved" course of fire is covered.

No vermin on FACs down here unless asked for with supporting docs to show the intended area to be shot etc.

Mike i've already cleared the wording with James Harris and he says that okay to shoot at bisley.
