I would argue that this particular rifle is none of those. It could once have been argued that ammunition was cheap, but even that is not as true as it once was. I believe these rifles belong in the bargain bin, under £200. I can not believe that they are now fetching the prices that they are. In my eyes a case of the Emperors New Clothes. Every one says that they are good there fore they are. Well I don't see it.
That's my view, which I accept is not everyones and we are all the better for being individuals.
Oh, and I should mention that I was scoped by one!

How much are they going for over in the UK? $70 - $100 will get you one over here.I can not believe that they are now fetching the prices that they are.
It shoots were I point it. It cost me approx. £250 including the Darrel mount and scope its all matching numbers including the detectable bayonet. Its easy to reload for. I don't have access to a range over 300yds so what is there not to like.? Why would I want to spend loads of money on a black plastic thing that does the same job for stupid amounts of money. If its eligible I will use it for S class.Dangermouse wrote:

Well said DM.
I find it odd I admit - but not everyone wants a rifle that they can shoot accurately, or compete with.
I know several shooters who are content to plink away on Short Siberia for 20 minutes once every other month, get 1 in the black and some on the frame and then announce that their Mosin/Enfield/Israeli re-barreled whatever is a blummin good 'battle rifle' and more than a match for those new fangled plastic AIAW things.
They seem to have no great interest in actually hitting anything in particular. So they equate cheap with good.
Then they go home happy and ( presumably ) re-enact the seige of Leningrad with fixed bayonet in front of ther Mum's Bedroom Mirror.
Which is all fine by me. To each his own I say.
