I had this conversation with a fella from my club who has just finished his old motorbike. We were both very unsure wether it was legal but from seeing these comments he's going to be very happy!

thanks for the info guys.
bike is a 2007 suzuki gsxr 750, will have to try with my current rifle to see if i feel safe with a slip on my back
think i might just go in the car to save my self the hassle of a anti spoting my and the police closing in wtfwtf

You ride a gixxer and you're worried about the
slip making you feel unsafe? :lol:
(based on my experience of riding a '89 GSXR1100 but I guess the modern 750's are a little more refined...)

I have thought about this, i ride a BMW R1200GS adventure, pretty sure i could strap a rifle sideways across the panniers!

I think it's accepted practice to fit a sidecar to a BMW in order to carry a firearm, though with a preference for MG42s...

I've got the adventure panniers on my 1200GS and I reckon the panniers are not much less width than the handlebars, which I recall as being 39" wide. I think the only rifle I have that would fit across them without being dismantled would be my Rossi.
Never seen the point of sidecars myself, might as well have the extra wheel and a van.

I once had an interesting bike ride, traveling from Attenbourn sports, oxford to my home in Essex. I'd visited with my cert and an empty slot (never a smart move) and came away with a rifle in a gunslip. I was stopped no less than 3 times by traffic cars. Once said the phone calls from 'well meaning' drivers were coming in thick and fast. Also that the descriptions were a joke - gun toting, mad helps angel I'm not!
If you do decide to do it. Make sure you take your bike paperwork with you to save from the producer demands and trip to the nick.
