Plymouth City centre has at least 8 stores which sell Airsoft pistols and rilfes, 6 that sell CO2 powered pistols which are replicas of real hanguns, I know they have to take things seriously but teenagers :cool2: In my day two constables would have had a word probably confiscated the thing for having it out in public, but when you consider they probably just bought it and were just being stupid.
May warrant a seperate thread I know but demonstrates what we are saying here too.
I know this stuff is obvious to all but a small section of society but:
In this day and age is it over-reaction? The Police in fairness to them don't always help their own credibility but when they get a random call about youths with a handgun from a member of the public who does not know one end from the other, or how to spot a fake or Co2 Gun, they do not know what they are walking into until they have the situation under control and can then sort it out.
A lot of Gang members are Teenagers. your right in my day the local Police Officer would have taken the gun off you and then told your Dad, who would have sorted it with you, can you risk that in these days?
We may not always agree with the Police, their approaches and attitudes, but they are People doing a job and have to walk into unknown, sometimes dangerous situations, I think I would exercise similar caution.
