You don't work for the MOD do you? We've been told we're not allowed to use staples to attach targets to the boards because of a 'ricochet risk'!! emrolleyes

Mark, haven't you seen the horror stories of very fast big chunks of lead and copper being deflected by those dangerous staples!.

Must've missed them! None about bullets bouncing off the great hairy-arsed 9" nails holding the boards together either

I've seen tracer coming out of the sand butts at all kinds of angles (as i guess non tracer does?) particularly with auto fire?

Those nails have a special MOD Stealth/Deflective coating, Range-Use-Special-Treatment or RUST for short

We had an incident on one of the local farms many years ago when a girl was killed by a ricochet from her brother's .22 rf rifle (he was firing from the back of the house). It bounced off a drystone dyke and came back at about 135 degrees and penetrated the girls left armpit as she was hanging up washing at the side of the house. Straight into the heart, no obvious hole, the bullet & wound was only found in the PM.

blackstuff, no not at all

Sometimes pure accidents do happen, just chance and no one to blame.

Of course we can be overly paranoid at times. Some of those Swiss ranges for example would never be allowd here - and they have a perfect safety record.
