Hi Russell

Pretty sure there will be space - I will keep you in loop!

The trick is to come organised - treat it like a "match" - even informal.
In that way you simulate the environment, timing, process and events.
We set you up for success etc!

It tests your mat protocol and thinking process.
Really improves your results.

We can also "stimulate" the classical "brain farts" by
* breaking your rythym
* turning your dials wrong
* bad wind calls (they tend to happen anyway)
* cross shooting your target
That allows you learn how to assess the situation, decide on action, relax and react

Tim,

At some point after Raton, it will be good to have a chat, we are currently making plans to take a "team" to the 50cal worlds in 2014 - so be interesting to hear your experiences of taking your own kit etc.

Of course Mike anytime, happy to add my "mistakes" to the pot - so we all learn!
Where is it occurring!

The environment / location can have major influence on what you need to take versus procuring or sourcing that side.

May I point out that MIKMAK is a ubber brilliant organiser - and it may be well worth the time for a small delegation of people to visit and "extract" knowledge from him.

Dont forget the TR community are the "Master Tourers" in UK shooting sports and their knowledge base is also phenomenal.
Talk to their team organisers!!

Cheers Tim.

It will be at the NRA Whittington Centre Raton NM. Which is where I would assume you are going? - A couple of our guys have shot the World 50s before, so have some good inside knowledge on travel etc - but it will be a little different travelling with a team and a few 50s!

Thankfully the American 50cal shooters association is extremely helpful and we are fully aware of the requirements on BATF temporary import of weapons and ammo (just a little more complex with the 50s)

Be good to catch up after you get back though.
