I had a CZ 511. I've also had various 10/22s over the years. They all jam from time to time, but the CZ was the nicest of the lot, although the trigger was horrid. It took many a fox, and I do like a semi auto for the close range fox busting rifle - charlie is right on the top end of a 22, and the second shot works nicely.
My 10/22s were OK but not spectacular. I wish I hadn't sold the CZ, but I don't miss the 10/22s at all.
I bought my brother a Remington 597, and it has had a couple of tweaks and my nephews now think it is wonderful.

My Rimfire Magic 10/22 is great. Accurate and reliable, just keep the action clean!

I bought an Anschutz 525 from a member of my clays club and have been well pleased with it. Apart from £50 for a new magazine, which was a bit much.
But it's very well made, and seems accurate enough for my needs.

Well thats a hard one!! as the model said to the bishop
a bit of plinking, target work, maybe even mini gun comps
a good all rounder i have looked at a 1022 and they look good but i`ve been told they do need work to get the best out of um also the new cz 512 but im looking for advice many have said i should just stick with my bolt action as semi`s are just to much trouble with jamming all the time but i want one
For plinking and mini-rifle a 10/22 with a standard Ruger barrel and feeding it CCI mini mags is the way to go. There's plenty advice on how to slick them up over on the Rimfire Central site and you don't have to spend a fortune on after market parts. You can do wonders with a small file (auto bolt release) and a sheet of fine wet & dry. It's when you change barrels for one with a match chamber is where the problems can start.

We get too hung up on makes and models. If car companies can spend millions on R&D and still produce the odd dog off the production line then why should gun manufacturers be any different.
It's all about personal preference. That's why folk still buy Fiats and Alfa Romeos!
