Will you not be able to go later at some point to this club?
Yes they have a few dates lined up on the local range, and others at another range abit further away,, which is not a problem,,,thing is Ive paid to shoot as a syndicate member,, and I HAVE MISSED a few shoots and with only two left its about getting your monies worth I suppose....Ammo is the other problem as there is not an RFD near me that is open at this time of day so I can get some,,,I have hollow point /expanding ammo,, but not many FMJ's and Im not sure what is acceptable on their range days.

I would attend the syndicate shoots.
The club at the range will be active all year, plenty of time to go.
Re ammo....clubs normally sell ammo on the day.

As an ex shooter who has only shot
expanding ammo, on the range and in the field (mandatory) why is it not allowed on the ranges you shoot Rob?. Some kind of safety issue?. Been out of the game 6/7 years now, so much has changed.

No expert, but I suspect it's down to fragmentation.

Would expanding ammo potentially do more damage to Target frames and risk fragmentation landing on those in the butts??

It's not straight forward Mike357...some ranges are lead only...one of mine is...down to the safety certificate in that case.
Others...probably policy for no better reason than a committee.
They will expand when they hit something solid like the frame around a target...but 22lr are hollow point...that's expanding...but one doesn't need expanding on ticket for those.
Nothing straight forward is there?
:)

Not all .22L/R ammo is holllow point. My ticket spefically allows me "Expanding Ammunition" to be purchased, and used through my vermin rifle. I technically can't fire expanding in my target rifle.

I knew someone was going to say that.
And I think one
can fire HP 22lr in one's target rifle...as far as the law is concerned.
And you don't need expanding on your FAC for 30/30 underlever...before someone tells me that an all.
