Re: Are you using Hotmail? - PLEASE READ
Hotmail has now informed me that the reason why this forum's IP is banned is because somebody has flagged the forum notifications as spam.
I am not even going to begin to try and sort this issue out so just to repeat...
hotmail.com, hotmail.co.uk and live.co.uk and whatever else that is hotmail related is now blacklisted for new users signing up.
Those of you who would like your notifications from the forum, PMs and new posts notifications, will have to change your forum email address.

I hear what you are saying but I dont have another email address.

Is it the forum IP that was flagged as the source of Spam? I did quite a thorough check of the DNSBL's (Black Lists) and could not find us listed. If a forum member has deemed the notification emails to be spam once then they will do it again and it costs GBP20 a throw to get us moved to a new dedicated IP which is not a lot in the great scheme of things until the process has to be repeated. The other thing to consider is the black listing may be down to a previous user of the IP address...
The problem here is Microsoft can and do block IP's with impunity however they are yet to get to the AOL antics of blocking whole countries!
This is not an issue for existing members other than they may or may not get notifications, it is however an issue for potential new users as they will be told they cannot use Hotmail and if they have no other email addys they will not be able to join.

At this point it's probably worth throwing this site into the discussion: ////deleted////
If you don't care about receiving email notifications you may find this site useful. As soon as you click onto their page it generates an email address that will stay valid for 60 minutes, or until you click away from it. At the end of the 60 minutes the address is automatically deleted. It's plenty long enough for you to receive and process new user verification emails.
Of course, the advantage of owning a web domain is that I can create a dedicated email address solely for services likely to generate spam, but that's far too costly and technical for most people!

Good Morning Blu,
It started with Hotmail.com, then Hotmail.co.uk started playing up, then live. Hotmail has now removed us from the block list but they did tell me that there was no guarantee the IP would stay removed and I then decided to ban the email for new users.
