What annealing torch?
I have been looking around for a blow torch for annealing cases and have short-listed one of these http://www.transtools.co.uk/store/index ... uctId=6881
Do any of you folks have any views on its suitability for the job or what do you use? I wont be annealing cases in bulk, just as and when required.
Thanks.

Re: What annealing torch?
Do you have a gas cooker in the kitchen? If 'yes', then you can use the hob.
Re: What annealing torch?
It would do the job but it's hellish expensive. A ten or fifteen quid one from B&Q or eBay would do just as well.
Re: What annealing torch?
Got a lead smelter for casting bullets?
Dip the cases into molten lead for 3 seconds

Re: What annealing torch?
Meaty, If you can wait I have a new unused gas torch and probably the gas here you are welcome to, no charge just meet me at BR or Thetford when I am next over.
Re: What annealing torch?
Thanks for the replies.
Thanks again.

I hadn't thought of that one-I cast for my .451 Volunteer. Do you have to treat the cases with anything prior to dipping to stop any tinning?saddler wrote:Got a lead smelter for casting bullets?

Re: What annealing torch?
No worries about that, are you at Barton Road on the 22nd, or is anyone near you going so I can send it on it's way?
Re: What annealing torch?
Not sure about that one yet but I will try and sort something out.ovenpaa wrote:No worries about that, are you at Barton Road on the 22nd, or is anyone near you going so I can send it on it's way?
