I could list all sorts of reasons however I think at the end of the day it is a matter of how you feel as a shooter pulling the trigger.

Yeah i just load to shoot.

My method is lee dipper, bullet seated to a cal depth (as long as it fits in the mag) and lee factory crimp. bug hole groups at 100m and only slightly wider at 200m. Safe and accurate hunting rounds. I also swage my own "condom" bullets. tongueout

Agricultural? maybe but you won't find a more accurate volume measure that will handle every powder from fine ball to large stick and black powders equally well. Its measure is also infinitely adjustable unlike the fixed rotor measures, which I have a lot of time for BTW. Including a couple of Lee autodisk measures and a clutch of RCBS Little Dandies and Lyman Accumeasures not to mention the Lee scoops including the adjustable one and home made scoops both fixed and adjustable from sundry cases.

Fun isn't it.

I have a set of very finely tuned black powder scoops made from assorted cases that I built at least 20 years ago for black powder that work perfectly with every single throw.

I am still interested to hear how the new drop tube differs from the original as I am tempted to make one and see if it helps my Harrell.

It differs in as much as you cannot duplicate the 'stick powder' bridging problem that the original tubes suffer!
