A tree hugger from Animal Aid making his case that is bad for our kids to see pictures of dead pigeons, foxes etc. do agree with him about his example of the lion though...

And all the pictures of guns get covered up with card like the naughty magazines.

Soon it'll be "Oh, wow! This GunMart has a double-drum magazine spread" [flicks out centre-fold] "Look at them springs"

'Tis pathetic.

According to the obligatory vegan contributor you shouldn't consider animals as "sub human".
Go figure..

Apparently such magazines have a "corrosive effect on young minds". More corrosive to a young mind than Sally from Sidcups beaver in full close up is it?
Which would you prefer your 10 year old to be sat reading on the sofa?

My lad (7 yo) loves to read my shooting magazines and has not shown any signs of distress after seeing a picture of a shot fox/rabbit/deer etc. I only shoot paper and the occasional rabbit for the pot but my boy wants to know were his food comes from. What he does get distressed by are some of the x-box type games and blood lust films that his friends parents deem suitable for a 7 yo child to play/watch! Maybe tighter controls on the sale of these needs to be more of an issue.

I was aware Jeremy Whine would be discussing this, but refused to listen because history tells me he never has a balanced debate.

Pity the pro shooter lost his cool for a moment, good to hear someone eventually point out Rabbits, Charlie etc were vermin, and it was a woman who said it which very nicely introduced the fact that this is not an all male pass time,

Jeremy Vine's program is to the radio world what the Mirror is to the newspaper world. This is my opinion and no I am not being sarcastic.

Nothing new here, the antis doing their best to paint a picture of guts and gore and irresponsible gun slingers, unbelievable with the amount of emotional distress the kids in this country are exposed to when confronted with the fact that vermin are being culled because they are vermin and animals are being shot because people eat them.

Guess it is better to take your kid to Tesco and buy a vacuum packed ping meal and pretend it was made at the back of the shop by a magic machine.

Yes, sarcastic in case you are in doubt... tongueout

Just because most of the people on this forum automatically see foxes as vermin, doesn't mean it right - personally I won't read shooting publications that show pictures of dead foxes...it may be necessary to kill some, but is it necessary to take pictures...?

Yes people should, from an early age, be made aware of where their food comes from, and learn that nature isn't all fluffy cuddly animals - but as a fully informed adult, I don't want to see pictures of dead foxes while casually browsing through the magazines in WH Smiths...
