All I get is a pristine blank page, does this mean that I am also illiterate?
Re: Life time ban from Otterburn Ranges for an un-named shoo
No mention of a ban - just a club using the range when the paperwork allowing them to do so was,
a. Out of date, and
b. they were not officially booked onto the range
...or have I misread it?
Be interested to know more...

Jon is correct. no mention of what action was taken with the club who had the out of date paperwork in para 1.
The remainder was about NRA, NSRA disharmony.
Shame the two "governing" "national" bodies weren't grown up enough to sort out their differences without going to the military.
What a pair of bairns these two shooting (in the foot) organisations are.

Er until anyone knows what the actual facts about the situation are that is an incorrect and unhelpful statement.dromia wrote: Shame the two "governing" "national" bodies weren't grown up enough to sort out their differences without going to the military.

However don't let the truth get in the way of yet another go at the NRA and /or NSRA who I believe are sorting it out amongst themselves.

True Karen I'm only going on the attached DTE missive which I assume, rightly or wrongly, must have some semblance of credence.
As I have heard nothing pertinent or to the contrary about this from the NRA of which I am a member I can only go on the DTE's take on the meeting. If the NRA would like to furnish me with further information about this meeting then I would be more than happy to review my understanding of this event.
I await the NRA's position on this meeting with bated breath.
However I will not hold my breath for an NRA response as that could be injurious to my health.

Re: Life time ban from Otterburn Ranges for an un-named shoo
Karen this note says that the NRA and the NSRA are trying to resolve the issue with the input of the DLRSC (Defence Land Ranges Safety Committee) so they do not seem to be sorting it just between themselves.
This once again highlights the stupidity of the multplicity of "national" bodies. One club I am a member of is primarily a small bore club with a full bore section therefore we are members of two national organisations. The NSRA for our primary function and the NRA for our full bore section to be able to book MOD ranges. Creating once again extra cost, admin and double insurance cover.
No wonder the "national" bodies lack any credibility on the ground when shooters and their clubs are the victims of these turf wars.

Re: Life time ban from Otterburn Ranges for an un-named shoo
On the issue of a club being banned for not having the correct paperwork I really have no sympathy for the club. It is their responsibility to ensure they meet the requirements of the MoD to use MoD ranges and if they have cavalier attitude about it then they bring the consequences upon themselves.
It further highlights one of the biggest weaknesses and threats to British shooting, its dependency on the use of MoD ranges.
