What does the button do on the cocking lever KennyC?

I believe it acts as a forward assist although don't quote me on that

The handle looks to be held on with a roll pin which is handy, your task now is to punch the roll pin out at some stage and take a picture of the bracket that is left, and then measure it then it is just a matter of deciding what sort of lever you want, should be fun to do

Yep, it's the bolt assist and probably of no more use now, than they were on the early Steyrs I was trained on!

IIRC it's more of a metal spike than a bracket. The cocking handle fits over it and is held in place by the roll pin. HTH.

Right, that looks OK, I just need some dimensions, I assume you want something like this of a similar profile and size?

OK an update on the AUG following this thread, I fired off an email to Manticore Arms who make the Raptor charging handle, and one is now on the way! so fingers crossed!

I have read this post and am not too happy about some of the comments from some about the black placky bin bag rifles.(The only placky bits on mine are the stock and pistol grip) It amazes me that people still slag these rifles when they can clearly out shoot the majority if not all the rifles you can buy at the same price (new). I have an early speed master 20" 1 in 8 barrel and was in the region of 1 to 1.1K for mine. Up until recently it shot foxes mostly really good to use from a 4x4. Single handed keeper laid off, majority of my fox shooting gone Our club amalgamated with another club and doing a lot more rifle shooting now.
I decided to do some OCW testing for it last weekend Vhit N140 24.5 up to 26.1 grains 69gn SMK seated to just under mag length with a colimator. I forgot to mention another plastic bit was a single shot follower I got through Midway luverly peice of kit. New brass (Lap) not trimmed or anything straight out of the box and loaded. I am going to do everything again with primer pockets, trimming etc etc done to see if there are any improvements. And remembering to wind the scope to full mag before starting shooting.
First time for the OCW for me and found it very revealing though only done at a 100 yds and was quite windy on the day tho I don't think it affected results much. Pics (hopefully) posted below the results speak for them selves as to how good these rifles are/can be.
