Re: cast bullets

#11 Post by dromia »

For the record I don't sell cast boolits, I refer customers to dodgy rog, but I do supply all other handloading and shooting requisites .

I cast all my own boolits and shoot cast almost exclusively, for the challenge, to get the best accuracy from my rifles, and for the pure pleasure it gives me.

In relation to the OP, what sort of velocities are you looking at as this will help determine suitable powders. Also what is the throat/groove/bore dimensions of the rifle you will be shooting the cast boolits in? Because until you know that then you won't know what size and shape of boolit to ask for.

The 6.5 Swede is a tack driver with cast up to 1600-1800 fps depending on what alloy you use, velocities over that with cast and you are entering PhD cast boolit level load development due to the fast twist and long throats of most military B/A Swedish Mausers.
