How will these proposed new laws be enforced? Border Checkpoints - the building of a coast to coast wall, the "Thistle Curtain" - behind which it will be all sunshine, light, shortbread, successful 7 year plans, equality for all (but extra portions for the politicians), a compulsary photo of Marx above every fireplace, the Internationale every hour on the hour on Radio SNP, etc.??

Oi! Hadrian! Got a job for ya! Bring ya trowel!! :55:

In all seriousness though, should Scotland get "independance", they will then have to put on the yoke of European oppression. With that comes the fact that thet will have to sign up to every treaty as an individual country. That is every treaty, without choice, that has been ratified by the EU. That includes Schengan. The rest of the UK is not, nor ever will be signed up to Schengan. That is the treaty which allows EU citizens to move "without borders" within the union. Controlled border crossings will have to be erected between Scotland and the UK.......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

The problem with this as I see it is they may be able to gather wide support for it. Lets face it guys, firearms of any type are usually demonized by the popular press and telly media. For the the non shooting public and the gullible and lets face it, there are millions of them, this may seem like the way to go to reducing gun crime. Some of the comments I have read on the online Scottish newspapers have been along the lines of " If there weren't any guns to steal from legal gun owners this would go a long way to cutting gun crime". This is what you folks are going to be up against if they start pushing this crap. They've done a pretty good job of brainwashing the masses regarding gun ownership.

Gaz, if you must insist on using slang to describe Scots and Scotland then please use the correct slang. It is Jockanese and not
sweaty socks or Jockistan
thank you.

My local paper, The Dundee Courier & Advertiser have been ok in the past about publishing letters etc relating to shooting but when I sent them info about NE Scotland success at The Phoenix, I got no reply from them or The Scotsman.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

A quick note about "druggies" mentioned above.

In fact, for every pound spent in treatment, £9 is saved in the overall economy - i.e. there is an even huger amount that would be lost if they were not treated.

And, no one is immune from addictions - when it is your son or daughter or parent or yourself, then perspectives tend to change.

Please note, this is NOT posted in a condemnatory way.......just for information.

to ensure that we can better control the number of lethal weapons in society and thereby help to protect and reassure the Scottish public."
To be more truthfull that last word should not be "public" but should say "Government".

This really is sad.

We would save more money if the police got off their fat arrases and dealt with footie vermin, wine drinkling street scum and drug using morons instead of kissing their backsides and pandering to the lower classes..

I don't care if a drug user dies..i am not that interested. They chose to do that stuff, screw them - NO HELP to illegal drug users.......AT ALL!

Alkies don't get free booze, gambling addicts don't get £50 for the bookies, smokers don't get a pack of 20 at the docs so just WHY are drug users so special..they are dirty diseased people and already dead inside anyway.

Still, all is well in that other screwed up world we have in footie land (sport for morons - hey those ARE the zombies) the thickhead cops are actually sending texts asking supporters NOT to beat their wives up if their team loses..FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If that were GUNS they would be well gone by now, lets start a petition to get Scottish Football banned, after all they are P1sh at it anyway..even at national level they are a joke.

Are Scottish cops and their chief cnutsables such tossers they cannot actually deal with REAL criminals..instead they will be used to enforce another unfair BAN on the law abiding should it happen.

In an ideal world they would get the ammo back one round at a time....and the firearm removed from a pile of empty brass..

SAY "NO" to the Scottish numpty party......they make you kinda embarassed to be Scottish.
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
