Re: Bullets & brass
As I often do for combinations I don't know, just run the numbers on the 80smk at 3250, according Ballistic on the ipad it's subsonic by 1200 yards - is that what you've found?
Re: Bullets & brass
In fact scarily, it says my little 223 should beat it at 1000 yards, by a whisker, for windage, if I am shooting the Berger and Christel the SMK. My velocity was down as 3000, and I Put the SMK at 3250.
This really intrigues me, so I think that little comparison would be most interesting!

Re: Bullets & brass
Hehe!
If you are using the Pejsa model it is going to fail from around 880 yards and upwards as it does not seem to cope well with light projectiles running at high MV's. I have spent many hours trying to model the external ballistics from 800-1200.
Christel ignores it and just uses the drops she knows.

Re: Bullets & brass
Not sure what the underlying model is. Seems to be quite close most of the time. Must admit I've never shot 1200, would be fun to try it!
